In 2004, Eyes On Austin (EOA) established the Austin Job Center located at 5519 W. North Avenue. During 2005 (EOA) had great success with its Job Center. A total of 4,532 persons came through the doors for various employment related services.
The Austin Job Center has on staff a job developer who will answer questions; provide clients with job leads, resume development, and skill testing assistance. Other staff is available to help you with obtaining an e-mail address and providing assistance with general use of the computer.
EOA's primary focus for 2006 is working with ex-offenders. This task is handled by the staff case manager who has a current caseload of over one hundred persons.
EOA is seeking to form partnerships with the Illinois Department of Corrections, Cook County Sheriff's Office and the Cook County Juvenile Facility to assist paroled individuals to obtain housing, clothing and jobs. This will, we believe decrease the recidivism rate in the Austin community.
Eyes On Austin has created as a part of the Job Center, the Austin Handyman Program. It is facilitated by Rev. Willie Southworth. The Handyman Program goal is to provide training in the building trades for individuals eighteen (18) years and older who are employed. This is a 12-week program.
Students participate in classroom activities and on the job training. They also work on home improvement projects in Austin under the direction of Eyes On Austin.

Eyes on Austin's Teen Reach program was completed June 30, 2005. Teens involved in the program created theTeen Reach Directory (TRD). The directory contains the names of businesses friendly to the idea of hiring teens.
The TRD was printed as a result of contributions from area businesses and distributed to high schools and businesses.
